Pretty Lights - Passing By Behind Your Eyes
October 6th was a pretty great day for music releases. With some great new albums from Built to Spill, Lake, Dutchess & The Duke, and Port O’Brien, my favorite album had to be the new joint from super producer-musician-performer Derek Vincent Smith, better known as Pretty Lights. After hitting the web with his debut album, Taking Up Your Precious Time, Pretty Lights followed up with the 2008 sensation Filling Up the City Skies. This 2CD free download, complemented with an extensive touring schedule hitting every major Festival in 2008 and 2009, helped to propel Derek Vincent Smith and Pretty Lights to the top of every concert-goer’s list. After seeing them this past summer at Rothbury Music Festival, I knew that this was definitely a MUST-SEE show any time possible. With a new album, full of insane jams and amazingly-produced sounds, Pretty Lights is currently on the road performing extensively to promote their new music. Pretty Lights puts on mind-blowing shows, and now with another album under their belt they will be better than ever.
